Challenges in Bulk-Loading Employee Documents

Every new Oracle HCM Cloud deployment necessitates migration of large numbers of employee-related documents from legacy systems. Similarly, during mass recruitment, a large number of employee records are created and relevant documents have to be attached to them. This process of uploading employee documents is fraught with pain for business users.

While HCM Data Loader (HDL) developed by Oracle for bulk-uploads addresses many of the limitations that its predecessor File Based Loader (FDL) had, the tool requires technically skilled personnel to process the documents. Due to missing pre-validation, the risk of human errors is ever present and the hard-to-understand error messages make rectification difficult. All of these make the bulk document uploading process highly cumbersome.

How DoQ Integrator Makes Bulk Document Uploads Simple

DoQ links third-party application data with Oracle HCM Cloud and leverages Oracle’s web services to bulk transfer employee documents to the Cloud. At the core of the bulk-loading processes are DAT files that contain all the metadata required to process and attach employee documents.

DoQ Integrator adopts an approach that is different from other data loader tools, whereby users can prepare the documents to be attached using a simple Excel sheet—a tool that all business users are familiar with. DoQ’s Auto-Cloud Upload option takes care of the rest.

To initiate upload, business users have to create only two things: a source folder with all the documents to be attached and a simple Excel sheet containing all the corresponding information. After logging into DoQ, they select the folder to be processed. DoQ generates the necessary DAT files, executes the required validation, and automatically uploads the documents in Fusion HCM Cloud—all at a single click.
